Violence in the media

Violence in the media can have a extremely negative effect on people who witness the violence through watching a scary film air playing a violent game, lots of problems can occur through watching or playing these violent games or films. With video games becoming more and more realistic, people  need to be extremely cautious as to what our youth and young people are being exposed to on a daily basis. Fantasy violence can leave a troubled mind craving more and more until they act out in reality. There is a violent cultural script that too many children are influenced to live out. To dig further, here is a list of some of the most violent horrible killings in the past few years; all of these killers had an obsession with violent video games. One example of violence in the media leading to violence is shown in the news article below, this proves although witnessing violence does not affect everyone it does effect a handful of people leading to devastating issues which should never happen

The counter arguments to violence in the media is thousands of people consume violence in the media and only a handful are lead to commit violent acts in real life, the large majority of people know the line between the virtual world and real life and understand the line. violence in the media through video games is also used as a huge stress relief. there are also many other factors affecting real life violence and to be physically able to kill someone it can not be done just through violence in the media there must be other problems in the individuals life.
quentin tarantino is a violent movie director who strongly argues that violence in films is not the cause of real life violence and his films do not affect people as they are simply fiction and are not real life therefore is certainly not a big factor in why people commit crimes, he argues theres many other factors such as poor socialisation mental or psychological issues and problems in the past leading people to commit violent acts
Regulation and censorship should be used to restrict people who are far to young from viewing content which is deemed as too violent for them to see as it will be to intense for them and may leave them feeling scared or on edge, films and games should definitely have age restrictions just like they currently do, although it is too easy for people of a younger age to view things they aren't supposed to there is nothing more which can be done so the way regulations are currently used is appropriate and age restrictions should continue to be used and censorship should still be used in order for things not to get too graphic and gruesome.
overall, it all depends on the individual and the way you interpret the violence, everyone reacts differently, some may have a negotiated response and accept the violence in certain situations some may have a oppositional response to the violence and believe its 100 percent wrong or some individuals, of corse a very small handful may have a dominant response and may copy the violence they have seen, it all depends on the individual and how they decide to interpret the violence and the response they have to the violence.
