Bullet boy 1. How are people and places represented in the film bullet boy? Ricky in the film bullet boy are represented as a stereotypical teenage black boy from a rough area, who has been in prison and has had a hard time growing up and has been caught up amongst lots of violence. Ricky does try to avoid violence and look out for and protect his brother but is dragged back into the violent gang life. 2. Which stereotypes that exist about people and places are challenged and which are reinforced?  The stereotype that black teenagers are involved in violence and crime is reinforced through the character of Ricky, the stereotype of all black males is challenged as Ricky's mums boyfriend works in the church and is a very good influence for Curtis and always provides and tries to support Ricky and his family. 3.  How does the film redefine British identity? Hawaii Five O task 1.  The crime drama genre is shown during the episode by the constant use of action scenes and the the use of violent weapons e.g guns and knifes lots of signifiers are used to re enforce male dominance and the male stereotype such as the action such as chases, violence and investigation and the props used such as guns and police cars and uniforms 2. Gender is shown as very equal in the episode as there is both male and females involved in the fighting and action scenes which creates equality and challenges the old representation of women in the media but re enforces the new stereotype that everyone is equal and helps creates equality for women. 3.  Enigmas are used through out as lots of mystery is in the episode, one example of a enigma used is who the male character answers the phone two and what there talking about, another example of mystery created is when someone is kidnapped and taken into prison which creates lots of unanswered questions such as...
